Executive Vice President for Innovation and Industry Relations
Prof. Yuval Garini
As the Vice President for Innovation and Industry Relations at the Technion, Professor Yuval Garini leads the university’s mission to bridge academic excellence with real-world impact. He oversees initiatives that foster collaboration with industry, encourage entrepreneurship, and translate cutting-edge research into technologies that benefit society.
Prof. Garini brings to this role a strong scientific background and decades of experience across academia and industry. A physicist by training, he earned all his degrees at the Technion and has led pioneering research in biophysics and nanotechnology. His work explores genome organization, protein–DNA interactions, and cancer genetics, combining advanced optical microscopy and single-molecule methods.
Before assuming his current position, he headed the Nano Dynamics Lab in the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, served as head of the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute, and founded Pentaomix, a company using hyperspectral imaging and AI for cancer detection and personalized treatment.
Through his leadership, Prof. Garini is committed to cultivating an ecosystem of innovation, connecting researchers, students, and industry partners to shape the future of technology and discovery.
